At ETSS Wicklow, we use Microsoft Teams to collaborate online - students can complete assignments for their team and group chat through video conference on project work. They can access, share and edit Word documents, PowerPoint presentations and Excel files in real time. Microsoft Teams is a powerful tool which helps class groups share learning in interesting and innovative ways.
Teachers can post work and monitor who has read assignments and who has completed them. The enormous benefit of being familiar with Microsoft Teams shone through during school closures due to the threat of the Covid-19 virus. Teachers and students moved smoothly to remote learning and continue classes as normal.
Microsoft Teams allows students to learn at their own rhythm and balance school work with other activities - students learn how to use technology correctly and are encouraged to take breaks, stay hydrated, and know when its time to stop working.
