Digital Learning Vision
At Wicklow Educate Together Secondary School, our vision for digital learning is rooted in the values of equality, inclusion, respect and democratic participation that define the Educate Together ethos.
We aim to create a learning environment where every student can access and engage fully with the curriculum, supported by digital technologies that empower them to become independent thinkers, active learners and responsible global citizens. Digital learning at Wicklow ETSS will be creative, inclusive, collaborative, innovative, responsible, future focused, sustainable, student centred and empowering.
Through the purposeful use of digital tools such as the Microsoft Suite in conjunction with iPads, and through the ethical and sustainable use of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, students will develop digital literacy, critical thinking and problem solving skills that prepare them for lifelong learning in an ever changing modern world.
Our vision is to foster a balanced approach where digital learning complements traditional core competency skills such as handwriting, sketching and oral communication. Teachers will continue to use technology meaningfully to personalise learning, support assessment, provide formative feedback and promote creativity across all subjects. Assistive technologies will ensure inclusion and accessibility for every learner.
By 2028, we envision classrooms where students confidently use technology to create, communicate and collaborate, blending digital and traditional approaches seamlessly. In doing so, Wicklow ETSS will continue to “Learn Together to Live Together,” developing a generation of learners who use technology ethically, imaginatively and for the common good.
